The data center has its own combined heat and power plant for local power and air conditioning supply and has additional protection against power failures with UPS power supply and emergency power systems (NEA). We guarantee you an annual average power availability of 99.95 % in the data center.

The data centers in Düsseldorf are arranged in such a way that 1-site, 2-site or 3-site strategies can be implemented in the data centers. Connections between the data centers can be easily and quickly switched via the existing dark fiber pre-cabling. This means that redundancy concepts can be implemented cost-effectively by accommodating them in completely separate data centers without having to use completely different locations and carrier connections.

Cluster and blade systems with high energy and cooling requirements can also be operated without any problems in the well-equipped areas in our data center colocations in Düsseldorf. All data centers in which we offer our services are ISO 27001 certified.

The physical security of the data center areas is a high priority. All data centers are protected by a multi-level security system. This begins with the complete fencing of the site with S-wire and ends with the protection of racks and cages with their own numerical code. Access to the data centers is only possible for authorized customers with access control. Unauthorized persons can only enter the data center after approval by authorized customers.

All relevant areas of the data center are monitored by cameras and the recordings are archived accordingly. All buildings are secured with a burglar alarm system; alarms are reported both internally and to 2 independent security companies via dedicated alarm lines.

Extensive fire protection measures characterize the areas of the data center. A highly sensitive fire alarm system monitors both the data center and the office areas. In addition, fire detectors with suction technology are installed in the data centers, which can detect a fire even earlier.

In the event of a fire, argon gas extinguishing systems immediately ensure that IT and technology are gently extinguished. Data loss due to extinguishing water is therefore not possible. The local fire department is also immediately informed of a fire via a direct connection to the fire alarm system. All data center areas meet at least the F90 fire protection standard. All rooms are designed as fire compartments to prevent fires from spreading.

Redundant air conditioning systems in the data center ensure reliable cooling of the IT systems. Redundant climate control cabinets ensure a constant temperature between 19 and 24 degrees and controlled humidity in compliance with ASHRAE standards for IT.

Thanks to the use of free cooling and cold/hot aisle separation, the air conditioning technology is highly efficient and environmentally friendly. The entire air conditioning system is monitored around the clock via the building management system and separate monitoring systems directly in the Data Center. Leakage sensors and pressure monitoring systems immediately report any leaking coolant.

A ring-shaped connection to the medium-voltage grid of Stadtwerke Düsseldorf supplies the transformer systems of the data centers and ensures the power supply from the energy supplier's grid even in the event of a power connection failure. Should a power supply failure nevertheless occur, preheated diesel generators are immediately activated and supply the battery-buffered UPS systems in each data center area with power again - thus ensuring the power supply to our customers' infrastructures at all times. Thanks to our own stockpiling of diesel fuel and supply contracts, we can also cope with longer-term power outages without interrupting the data center power supply.

All infrastructure systems such as air conditioning, power supply systems and security systems are monitored and controlled by a building management system. A second, independent system also checks all relevant parameters and informs our technicians and service providers immediately in the event of a fault.

All areas in the data centers are connected via direct and redundant fiber optic connections. A large number of carriers are already represented in the data centers. Connections within and between the individual data centers are switched flexibly and at short notice as part of cross-connects at transparent prices. All types of connections can be implemented, from Cat 6 on a copper basis to single and multimode cabling on a fiber optic basis.

The backbone network with direct connections to important European exchange points and carriers is used to connect customers to the Internet.

The data centers operate their own IP network with several fibre optic connections linking the network nodes in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Redundant routers and fiber optic connections ensure highly available access to all important carriers and exchange points. Peering agreements with important ISPs ensure a fast connection.

State-of-the-art hardware from HPE and Brocade ensures maximum data throughput with low latency and no packet loss. The entire network is monitored around the clock by the data centers' Network Operation Center.
